Stefan Donecker

Historian. Currently PhD researcher at the European University Institute in Florence in the framework of the Boccaccio Intellectual History Programme. Lecturer at the University of Latvia, Riga. Secretary General of the Austrian-Estonian Society. Research focus on North-Eastern Europe in the early modern period, with an emphasis on intellectual and conceptual history. Aline Ehrenfried

Social anthropologist and curator in Vienna and Aberdeen. In my recent project I am working on the archive of the Soviet Polar Census of 1926-27, for which I spent 2004/05 a one-year fieldwork along the Yenisej in Krasnojarsk territory. In former years I was working in ethnographic museums and as a freelance curator for museums, exhibitions and new-media projects. Now I am writing my doctoral theses. Gertrude Eilmsteiner-Saxinger

Social Anthropologist. Since 2006 PhD. cand. at the University of Vienna (A). For her research project "Labour Migration in North-Western Siberia - the Lives of Vakhtoviki" (supervised by Prof. Peter Schweitzer) she received the Dissertation Award in Migration Studies 2007 of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, ÖAW. Current research interests: migration, gender, space, labour, post-socialist countries, Russian Federation with focus on northern Siberia. Claudia Grill

Social Anthropologist (University of Vienna, 2008) focussing on Environmental Anthropology, Ethnoecology as well as Sustainable Development; currently doctoral student at Bielefeld University (supervisor: Dr. Joanna Pfaff-Czarnecka) as part of the Junior Research Group "KlimaWelten" that attempts to develop a global ethnography of local perceptions of climate change in coastal regions by means of Visual Anthropology; fieldwork in northern Manitoba, Canada from June 2010 until September 2011
